The real heavy-hitters of the game world are coming now. We already had the Xbox’s Halo 2 last week, a day that I marked with a poop joke. I guess you can tell I’m not a rabid Halo fan - I’d play it if I had it, but it’s not something I’m going to rush out and get anytime soon.
Next week we have Half-Life 2 on the PC, a release that has been more screwed up than any in recent history. I do want this game, and in fact I almost bought it a week ago - the credit card was out, and I was set to preload it via Steam rather than wait until it hit the stores. But then I thought I’d spend the money on presents instead, as I’d be the primary one to get any enjoyment out of the game, even though Sam’s getting into the first one.
On the PS2, Metal Gear Solid 3 hits the shelves. Again, it’s something I really want, but not sure I can really justify the price for one game. It’s been ages since I bought a game at full price, not sure I can bring myself to do it. And now that Sam has lost interest in the MGS world, it’s even harder to justify.
One of the other big games that is already out is Dead or Alive: Ultimate, and this is yet another title I want. This one I certainly will wait until it hits pre-played status on ebgames.com - then I get it at a discount.
