eet so leeetle!

So I got a new PS2. You may have heard they’re small, but that’s not true at all. The new ones are actually huge, as can be seen in this comparison shot with a giant pumpkin.

Oh, who am I kidding? It’s tiny. Now open wide and say “aaaah”.

I just remembered this.. I once designed a Beverly Hills Cop role-playing game. I can picture it now, my crappy handwriting filling the pages of the 80s-designed notebook my mum and I found at the kitchen reject shop.

We never actually played the game, but I must have had fun designing it. This memory floated to the surface after reading this article. The comment about children needing to write their own games is what stuck out - I think it’s a great idea, but it can be started without computers. Creating your own board game - designing the ruleset, planning the board, etc - would have just as much educational value, without having to learn a programming or scripting language.

bang bang you’re dead, lovie

So what if gay couples can’t get married? At least they can invest in some personal protection that fits their lifestyle.

like a vacuum

To continue in this vein, I’d like to point out that I really, really suck at Guilty Gear X2: #Reload.

Before bed, I played 10 matches with Sam. He won 9 of them.

do-over

OH NOS!

I just checked the scores and realised mine only added up to 9, so I went back and checked the scorecard, and realised I’d missed a point, so I correctly added up to 10 again.

Then I realised that something had to be wrong on that SVC Chaos score, because it lists 4 points, and that’s unpossible. What to do? I guess there is only one answer:

New tournament.

Nevermind. I remember now that one match ended in a draw so we both took a point.

Get ready.. FIGHT!

The inaugural Windmill Family Beatdown took place this weekend, a grueling contest of wits and strength, featuring 9 games spanning 4 different consoles. Here are the results:

Game Simon Amy Sam
Project Justice I I I
Guilty Gear X II I
Soul Calibur I II
Street Fighter III I I I
Dead or Alive 2 I I I
Dead or Alive 3 II I
Capcom vs SNK 2 II I
SNK vs Capcom Chaos II I I
Tekken Tag Tournament II I
10 10 8

So who is the clear winner here? Obviously, I’ve been going easy on Amy, but a decider is needed. We were going to play Links 2004 for the finisher, but my vast superiority would have made it no fun. So a new game will have to be played, one that neither of us have played before..
