Is it washable?

Nothing earth-shattering here, because the rumors have been going around for a while, but no hard drive? That would suck.

They scored big “OOBE” points with me when I plugged in the system and realised I didn’t need to go out and spend 20 bucks on a memory card, and ripping CDs to customize your game soundtrack is something MS crowed about with the Xbox, what are they going to say now? “Oh, forget about that, you didn’t use it anyway”? AFAIK, a significant number of people do make use of the feature. Then there’s downloadable content. Where do you save that if there’s no HD?

Now, the question the MS response could be “yes yes, so you like all these things, but do you need 8gb of space?” and that’s where it gets interesting. Instead of an HD, they could provide storage via standard compact flash RAM. Keep costs down by shipping with something small, but allow you to swap it out and use a bigger card if you want more space. I think that would be the best option, let’s see if MS thinks so.
