it’s a me!

Although I’ve had it a week or so now, I haven’t posted here the news that the addition of the Gameboy Advance SP has completed our current console collection. It’s onyx, to match our jet Gamecube, and it’s really quite fetching. I could go on and on about technology such as front lighting, a 32-bit ARM processor, a rechargable lithium-ion battery, but really, all you need to know is this:

I can now play Bubble Bobble while taking a dump.

trip on a camel

Jeff Minter is a legend. I eagerly await his Gamecube game Unity. But look at this screenshot. Have you ever played a game with “arsebiscuits” in it?

marital bliss

Being someone who regularly ignores the outside world, I didn’t know anything about the gay-weddings-in-San-Francisco thing until Amy mentioned it today. I still don’t understand how someone can say this is wrong. I just can’t see how someone could look at this picture and say there is something wrong with that scene. Amy will tell you I can be as unemotional as a brick, but the images on that page, and the one I linked to in particular, bring tears to my eyes.

Really, if you’re against gay marriage, what is your argument? Can you think of one that doesn’t involve a religious text? In other words, can YOU yourself come up with an argument and not just repeat what someone else has told you is right? Go on, tell me why it’s wrong for two people who have been together for 51 years, who truly love each other, to be allowed the same social status that Britney Spears drunkenly stumbled into as a lark.

jesus christ superstar, walks like a woman and he wears a bra

It’s true, you really do learn something new each day. For example, today I learned that Ron Jeremy was in Jesus Christ Superstar.

curl up and dye

Move over Sonic! I now have blue hair. Shocking Blue hair, in fact.

Amy’s looks cooler though, she has Hot Hot Pink.

hear hear

Tycho weighs in on the discussion about getting bored with games:

If between four consoles and the personal computer you can’t find some way to enjoy yourself, please send me your name and a picture so I can fucking avoid you. I don’t want to catch whatever it is you have.

the hunt is OOOOONNNNNN

Poacher! takes the Deer Hunter idea and runs with it. I’ll paste my thoughts on it here, because I’m lazy and think you are two and therefore won’t scroll down to see what I wrote on the site:

Like everyone else, I clicked the thumbnail expecting to see a “STOP THE POACHERS!” game, and was surprised to see the opposite. That´s a good start, it got my interest.

I find the subject distasteful, but if a lot of effort went into this and you stayed away from the lurid, you could make a fairly open-ended game where your character is better defined by your own morals. Perhaps halfway through the game you get sick of hunting animals and disappear with the money without doing the job - then the illegal game hunting underworld is chasing you across Africa and now you´re the prey. The hunt is OOOOOONNNNNN!

From the description though, I´d guess you´re going for lurid. Oh well.

hope clint doesn’t complain

Firefox is now at 0.8. Oh, you haven’t heard of it? Perhaps you know it as Firebird. Or maybe Phoenix? Three name changes and it’s not even 1.0 yet. That’s quite impressive. They swear this one’s going to stick though, they’ve spent a whole year discussing it.

Me? I’m running one of the P4-optimized builds from Scragz. Shame I don’t get to see the pretty new Firefox icons though, as only 100% official builds are allowed to use those.

tama!

Yay! Tamagotchi returns!

I think it’s pretty good timing. Kids have been pumped up with collecting games for the past few years, and this is more fun than NeoPets.

/me wants one.
