dual thumbs up

My Playstation-PC controller converter arrived yesterday, and I’m very impressed with both the product and Level Six, who I bought it from.

It works perfectly under Windows and OS X, and is supposed to work under Linux too, I just haven’t tried it yet. MAME has never played so well =)

The nice thing about it is that it fully supports both the digital nature of the d-pad and the analog sticks, so it’s like getting two controllers in one.

One note - it didn’t work on the iMac at first, when I had it plugged into a USB port on the keyboard. Evidently it wasn’t receiving enough power, so I tried plugging it into one of the USB ports on the iMac itself and it worked fine.

See Amy? I *can* make fried rice.

And I bet I could put up shelves, too.

feel the power

I’m now officially GeForce FX powered. QuadroFX, even. BOW DOWN.

ATI have definitely stolen NVIDIA’s thunder this time however. The FX doesn’t do anything the Radeon 9700 doesn’t, it can just do more of it (more shader instructions, for example). But I’m still damn glad it’s in my machine.

bad kitty

Seriously, I shouldn’t be allowed to use eBay without spousal supervision. I was *this* close to buying an Amiga last night, just because I was talking about them earlier, and I just bought Smackdown 4 because Sam and I were playing Smackdown 3 this afternoon.

oldskool

Busy busy work work again, that explains the lack of weekday posting. Well, that and I can’t be arsed sometimes.

Anyway, I discovered Nectarine the other day, as you might have noticed if you ever pay attention to the “current tunage” listing above. It’s brought back a lot of memories from all the old C64 and Amiga tunes, and is providing a welcome alternative to my own music collection.

They just need the 4mat tune from the Lemmings cracktro.
