Site was down earlier so I couldn’t post what I wanted, so prepare for a mini-flood.
First of all, my second attempt at a Japanese recipe was much more successful. I made nikujaga (another recipe is in the earlier post) - meat and potatoes. Yes, I know, it’s ironic that I said I was tired of cooking meat and potatoes yet that’s what I’ve been doing. But in different ways, damnit.
Anyway, it was really very good, the soy sauce / sugar / wine is definitely a good flavor. I’d like to add carrots, and Amy suggested peas.. I dunno though, I’m not a pea man.
The only downside to following Japanese recipes is Japanese portions.
