marching on

The Soccernet poll sums it up pretty well - Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Other. Leeds’ defensive performance today was just piss-poor; Arsenal’s strike-force is not the kind you just hand the ball to.

On the other hand, in the past few seasons, Leeds’ downfall has been early success that has piled the pressure (and the fatigue) on in the closing weeks. Maybe this is a good sign..?

upfront

I’ve had nothing to say really for the past few days. Not that I have a lot to say when I do post, mind you..

I did update the cool powers index the other day. The main point about it is that it’s changeable.. which is good for those of you who seem to think the “lounge” look is gay, though you don’t have much of a choice at the moment. I’ll probably end up having a cookie set so you can keep the look you want, or something.

movie night

I surprised myself (and probably Amy) by choosing to rent a movie for us to watch that didn’t involve Jackie Chan, computer graphics, anime, or cheeky young men enjoying a caper. I’m glad I decided to watch The Royal Tenenbaums, because movies that stray from the usual formula give me hope for humanity.

forgive me father for I have wrestled

Excellent PPV this month. I won’t mention any results just on the offchance there’s someone reading on the West coast who hasn’t seen it, but all the matches were good.. Benoit v Angle was probably the best of all though, with some great chain wrestling combos.

who the fuck is ferdinand?

You might have wondered why I didn’t mention Leeds’ win over the scum yet. Well it’s mainly because I didn’t get to see the game until last night, even though I knew the score. Seriously, this is the sort of result that will keep Leeds fans warm this winter. It almost doesn’t matter how the season ends up - we beat the scum.

It was a good game too, with both sides being about equal. The decision to make Robinson first team keeper is proving inspired, but I hope it doesn’t frustrate Martyn into leaving anytime soon.

route this

I just installed this router - it’s proving to be excellent. And only about 35 bucks after rebate! Amazing.

Although mine doesn’t look like that. Perhaps they’ve just had a redesign and old stock is being shifted at the low price? Can’t complain though, it’s not like I bought it for its looks.

HUMILIATING DEFEAT

So the UT2K3 demo is out, and it’s a lot of fun. I didn’t have much hope for it, as I always felt Unreal Tournament had too much of a “light feel” compared with, say, Quake3, but this new one feels.. I dunno, “chunky”. This is a good thing.

raw.. is.. windmills!

So I’ve been waiting for Amy to post something about our trip to Raw, but I guess it’s not coming, so I’ll have to say something instead.

It was great! We were not expecting to be as close as we were - Booker T’s pyros are damn hot. Speaking of hot.. it was amusing to see everyone standing for the HLA.. ..except for all the women and 90% of guys who were with their women. The only thing that was a bit of a downer was the lack of any real off-camera shenanigans. Maybe next time - because we’ll definitely go again the next chance we have.

freedom

GarageGames have modified the Torque license - now it’s an even better deal for people who want to self-publish.

All I need now is some time to actually work on my Torque project..

workahol

You can always tell when there’s a trade show coming up, because I stop posting during the week, practically. Work work work.

But I OWNED the NVIDIA drivers, installing them on my Debian box. Take that, driver bizitches.
