I have to say, I love the idea of Amazon’s Gold Box gimmick. If you haven’t seen it, basically every day you’re given a gold treasure box icon in the top-right when you sign in. Opening the box gives you an offer on something from their stores.

But here’s where it makes you feel like you’re on a gameshow - the offer is only valid for an hour. And you can choose to ignore it and see the next offer (you have 5) - if you ignore it, you never get that offer again.

Adding to the general gameshow feel is the fact that everything I’ve been offered has been gameshow fodder - sets of glasses, vacuum cleaners, fondue sets, and the like.

Gee, thanks Nickelodeon, I’m really glad you did an all-nighter for Solstice, so that I just had to watch 5 hours of Nicktoons, 2 of which were taken by the Rugrats. Awesome.

Well, the show’s over for England. I’m disappointed, obviously, but not bitterly so, as in previous years. The better team won, and we didn’t have to sit through the agony of penalties. Speaking of which, Beckham should have been awarded one - then again, Ronaldhino shouldn’t have been sent off. Some dodgy decisions throughout the game.

Oh well. There’s no Brazil in the European Championship in 2 years..

The only question is whether Rio scored the opening goal or not. I think he did, personally. And Mills shouldn’t have been carded after being tripped and then kicked in the back while he was down.
