Goodbye reasonably-fast-but-expensive-and-totally-unreliable-during-the-day-which-is-when-I-actually-need-to-use-it wireless internet, hello three-times-as-fast-down-but-slower-up-though-much-cheaper-and-more-reliable cable.
And welcome back to having a Usenet server, which I do actually use for work instead of alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.bork.bork.bork

DOA Xtreme Volleyball. I think I just wet myself. It’s some kind of fluid, anyway.

Plucked from memepool, here’s a story about a man and his balloons that I find oddly inspiring - making his childhood dream happen.

Another busy busy time. When I’ve not been working, I’ve been reading the news coming out of E3.
There’s so much going on in the gaming world, it’s going to be a great year. Off the top of my head.. Doom 3. Zelda. Sims Online. Sims PS2. Bounty Hunter. Galaxies. Tekken 4. GTA: Vice City. Project Ego. America’s Army. Even the new Tomb Raider game looks interesting.
And this is apart from some of the recent games that I’ve been playing (in demo form at least), such as Jedi Outcast, Dungeon Siege, and Soldier of Fortune 2.
All of this entertainment is good though, because otherwise I’ve got The Funk. I just feel down; like I can’t do anything and we’re never going to get out of Iowa again. I don’t feel productive; I just want to be left alone to play video games. Then I feel guilty for wasting time playing video games instead of being productive. *sigh*

New Egg - where I bought the PC parts from - have fantastic service. Super-quick processing, hassle-free returns (though I haven’t had to return anything), and well-packed items.
Their mastery of the English language on the other hand..

Hmm, a week since the last post. That’s not good. But I’ve been so busy, again.
The replacement mobo and CPU arrived, and I managed to get the new PC built without blowing anything up. I’ve also not had to fight with drivers or overheating or random crashes, so overall the custom PC-building experience has been quite pleasant. Except for that whole “screwing up the processor” thing, of course.
We now have a stove. It’s in the garage however, so that’s not doing much good. It’s also old and beat up and I’m afraid there’ll be snakes inside, or something, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
We had a rather fruitless washer search too, which ended up being a bit of a time-waster. We’ll get one yet!
But forget about all that, because damn, it’s Star Wars Day! You know I’m a huge Star Wars mark, so of course I was going to like it, but w00! I thought it was awesome. There was some stilted dialog, but remember kids, this is Star Wars we’re talking about. I can’t wait for the DVD - this may be one of the very few movies I’ll see in the theater more than once.
Once again, I want to be a Jedi when I grow up. Hmm, if I get selected for the Galaxies beta..
