orange alert

So I just received the Klez virus twice by email in the past hour or so. So somebody who knows me, or at least has my email address somewhere on their system (perhaps in their browser cache), is infected. Check yo’self.

you now have 20 seconds to comply

This is the best spam I have ever received:

Get Homeland Security!
We're currently living in uncertain times. Not only do we have to deal with the criminals born in the US, but now we have to concern ourselves with the nuts from abroad as well. We need security now more then ever.

Some people don’t have security because they can’t afford it. Others don’t have it because they don’t wont to give up their privacy.

We have the answer! Introducing the worlds first robotic COP.

This is no joke. These robotic cops LOOK ALIVE AND THEY MOVE!

The cost of a robotic COP is less then you would pay a security guard for one week 10 hours a day only the robot is on duty 24/7.

weather

On Wednesday, the temperature was 89F. Tonight? “Snow accumulation 1 to 2 inches. Low in the lower 30s.”

Stupid Iowa.

burn baby burn

Although it’s caused quite a few coasters, I’m currently getting into the homebrew DC scene. Playing MPEGs and slideshows is fun, but I want to try some of the emulators.. and then get into coding for it myself.

use the force

So we’re ramping up for AotC; Sam and I were jumping up and down with excitement at lunchtime as we realised it’s less than a month away. We have to start looking for a decent theater though - even if the local one does show it on opening day, the sound is terrible. And the picture isn’t all that hot either.

I should underline this point: we were literally jumping up and down with excitement.

oh so busy

The pace with work hasn’t slowed down, so still nothing interesting to post. My day would have been helped without seeing this three times today.

No shit, Sherlock.

P+K+G

Busy busy busy.

Lot of work stuff, but we did find time to play VF4 when it arrived yesterday.

And Sam totally wiped the floor with me. And we weren’t using the usual handicaps that we set in fighting games; his punch-punch-punch-punch-punch style is particularly effective in VF. Until I start countering, that is.

oops

Oops.

It would have been funnier if the book had been “SQL for Dummies”. Or something.
