down and out

So Leeds are out of the UEFA Cup. Miserable news. But nobody seems to be talking about the Matteo incident, save for a cursory mention here, where it says Matteo hit the ground in frustration.

Now, we only had one TV angle, but it sure as hell looked to me like he was laying in a couple of punches on Hesselink, who was then seen with a cut around his eye. Perhaps it was a coincidence, but I dunno.. that coupled with the way Matteo held his head in his hands that seemed to say “Oh I’m seriously screwed now”.

Perhaps I was just swayed by the US commentator who was screaming “thuggery”.

googlewhackassmothafuckaz

Mondo invented Googlewhacking in November 2000, and we were there to help him.

We’re suing for millions.

superstar

Ann, not content with being an international superstar, is now an international TV star.

I expect to get a lot of traffic now because I’m sure everyone goes straight to the coolpowers link on ae.co.uk.

wasted!

GTA3 arrived today (yesterday), and I’ve spent several hours causing havoc in Liberty City.

Incidentally, I rented State of Emergency the other day, and haven’t felt the desire to take it out of its box again after the first playing. It could have been a lot of fun - but bad control/camera lets it down. If only they’d included a 180-turn button.

steal my sunshine

I’m almost positive that this is NOT Mario Sunshine.

unblah

I forgot to post a follow-up last night. I was cheered up by a couple of things:

Finally unlocking Lei-Fang’s C8 costume
Saul’s post to the virtuaout forums

blah

I’ve had a bit of a down day today. I feel old, for one thing. Well, maybe that’s the wrong thing to say; it’s more of a feeling of not accomplishing anything in life. Which is patently untrue - I’m a parent for one thing - but it’s just been one of those blah days.

Or maybe I’m just annoyed that GTA3 didn’t come today.

Also, Chuck Jones died. *sigh*

This is actually the second time in recent months that Simon has induced a puke response from Sam. The first time, he fed him so many Twizzlers and ice cream that he puked. And by the way, when I was summoned upstairs to help clean up, Sam was still laughing, even with puke on his blankets.

Sam and I laughed so hard, he puked. I’m a terrible parent.

who hones da chiefs?

I stayed up last night to watch Slap Shot on the Action channel. I hadn’t seen it in its foul-mouthed glory since I was a little kid, so it was good nostalgic fun.

But the odd thing was, they changed the soundtrack. No more “Right Back Where We Started From”, which ALWAYS reminds me of Slap Shot when I hear it. I can only assume the rights to the soundtrack were not picked up by whoever owns the movie distribution rights now. I’ve seen this on TV with syndicated shows (esp. The Real World), but never with a movie like this.
