I’m Baaaack

Well, I’ll be trying to post more often this week because Simon will be gone. He’s going to L.A., to make his dreams come true. That’s right, Simon’s auditioning for the part of “crotchety British neighbor” for a sitcom in development at NBC.

No, that’s not true. Well, the part about going to L.A. is true, but not about the dream. I crushed his dreams long ago with a recipe that calls for 2 cups constant nagging, 1 cup frivolous spending, 2 tablespoons frequent crying, and a sprinkle of screaming.

inhumanforsale

Forget how much you’re worth, how about seeing how much of a serial killer you are.

sit down, ya bum

Aeron chairs as stupidity index. This is so true.. a few of us at my previous job watched a buttload of Aerons being moved around the office park by web companies with stupid names and stupider business plans.

ah yes

Attack of the Clones. What was wrong with The Clone Wars? Many people were annoyed with “The Phantom Menace”, but this one can be ridiculed by non-fanboys too.

lost in space

So I finally order DOA2: Hardcore last Wednesday from buy.com. I love the DOA stuff, but any time I thought about getting DOA2 I ummed and ahhed about it because “if I get an Xbox, I’ll get DOA3, and that’s only in a few months, and, and..”. I’m funny like that.

Anyway, yeah, I order it from buy.com, even though they annoyed me last time when I ordered Starfighter then they told me it was out of stock, so I cancelled the order and bought it locally then they said they couldn’t cancel the order and charged me and sent it anyway. But I couldn’t find DOA2 anywhere else, so I took my chances of it actually being in stock when they said it was. Every day after that I checked to see if it had shipped, and was dismayed to see “Sent to Warehouse”. So I’m guessing they’ve done their usual “hey, it’s not reeeeeally in stock, ha ha, tricked you” game. And just this afternoon I received this email:

We are still working on shipping the following item(s) from

order #xxxxxxxx:

item sku #50009868 Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore

You’ll receive an email from us once your item is on its way to you.

You will not be billed until your product actually ships.

Which would suck, except for the fact that the game arrived in my mailbox yesterday.

stupid australians

Now, I have Australian relatives. They are fine people. I have visited them before, and the country is very nice. But my God, the Australian government and media know fuck all when it comes to intelligently assessing videogames and censorship. Let’s ignore for the fact that the article is completely inaccurate - you’re not rewarded for killing security guards at all, security guards are one of the few NPCs that help you in Half-Life. So right, we’ll ignore that, but “They want it pulled from the shelves amid fears it may encourage more attacks on guards”?! WTF? I played FIFA last night did that encourage me to go and become a professional footballer? I played GT3 the other day, but I’m not speeding around Seattle in a 380HP Mazda Miata.

You know what? I bet those fucking headcrabs put them up to it.
